A recent grad’s playbook for landing a software developer job in a tough market
My path from graduate school into tech, the conversations that opened doors, and building AI-Edumate alongside my engineering career.
With evidence, always.
I’m Sai. Lead AI Engineer at Volanno, founder of AI-Edumate, and CTO of AutoClosure. I turn complex questions into AI products people can actually use — and trust.
From federal data to a child’s first fractions, the standard stays the same: show the evidence. Show the reasoning. Show the work.
Take a look at the work ↗I’ve always chased the moment something clicks. As an educator, I watched it happen in students. As a data scientist, I found it in numbers. Today, I build systems that make that moment measurable.
My path started in Hyderabad and brought me to UMBC for an M.S. in Data Science — a 4.0 GPA, 60+ graduate students mentored, and one enduring conviction: technology should make people more capable.
At DataFy Systems, I turned transaction data into decisions. At Kinetic Potential, I helped job seekers find their next step through Maryland’s Division of Rehabilitation Services. Two very different jobs, one lesson: information matters when it makes action possible.
I founded AI-Edumate in February 2025 and joined Volanno that August. Fourteen months later, I lead Volanno’s AI engineering. I also serve as CTO of AutoClosure, helping founders with product positioning.

Every dip is forgetting. Every dot is a well-timed review that makes the next dip shallower. It’s the curve my mastery engine was built to measure.

From a hello to a headline. ↙My path from graduate school into tech, the conversations that opened doors, and building AI-Edumate alongside my engineering career.
A conversation with Dennise Cardona about how Sampath and I turned our UMBC data-science capstone into AI-Edumate.
I’ve pitched to investors, taught teenagers to code, and trained professionals to build with AI. Every audience leaves with something they can use the next morning.
I’m leading a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk, with Volanno matching donations. At Claude for a Cause, I teach professionals to use Claude, and attendees give to my team as thanks.
